Question about 1998 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

Raditor fan problem

On a 1998 Chrysler Town & Country, 3.8 L, rear A/C, the radiator cooling fans do not turn on even when the A/C is on. The l.e.d.s on the climate control panel flash possibly indicating a fault. The thermostat and the thermostatic fan switch by the thermostat has been changed. Fuses are good. I was unable to find the fan relay. The Cooling fans have bben hooked up to the battery and work fine. I have been unable to find a schematic to determine which module is reposible for the function. I heard that was a recall on similar vehicles but don't have the money to bring it to a shop. Any body know where to get a truly free schematic?

Where is the radiator cooling fan relay located on a 1996 chrysler town and country 3.3 engine

the relay is located down by the radiator on the left hand side. it is actully a cooling fan module and is a solid state relay so therefore can't be ohmed to check for continuity.it is about 2" square and is attached to the frame.

My radiator cooling fans have no power and the 40 amp fan fuse is good, what's wrong?

There are many things that can cause your radiator fans to not get power. However, the most common cause is the fan control module. Some people call it a "fan control relay", (including many aftermarket parts retailers) but it is actually a solid state control module, not a relay.

Check for power in and out of the module. It is best if you have access to a scan tool that has system test capabilities so you can command the fans to turn on with the computer. Otherwise, you will have to get your engine really hot and see if the power is being sent from the control module to the fan motors.

The fan control module is located on the inside of the left frame rail (driver's side) just behind the radiator. You will have to get under the vehicle to see it. It looks like the picture below.

My raditor fan stays on in my 1997 town and country

cooling fans stay on, engine could be overheating, faulty cooling fan relay or pcm could be faulty.best get vechicle code scan before spending too much money you need scan to see what engine coolant temperature is,scanner can tell you if engine getting too hot could have partially closed thermostat, clogged radiator cores clogged engine block coolant passages clogged also the heater core, if engine not overheating the code scanner will tell you if you have faulty cooling fans relay or pcm failure.

I rearended someone and bent my radiator in. It's not leaking but the cooling fan does not turn on now. Does the radiator need to be replaced or the fan? If it's the radiator, is it possible to change...

It is recommended that you replace both the radiator and the fan. I would also probably take it to a body shop have then straighten anything with the body, then replace the radiator yourself. That way you know when you go to put the new radiator in that all the holes line up and everything will find without rubbing.

Why does my 2005 Town & Country radiator fan

The fan is computer controlled and will not come on untill it reaches 212Deg . It should come on though if you turn on the air conditioning, if not you could have a bad fan relay or relay plug.

Low speed fan relay for the 2005 chrysler town and country

If you are talking about the cooling fan relay for the radiator there is no low speed and high speed relay. There is only one relay and it is behind the grill revitted to the bumper rail. It is doesnt look like you typical relay.
