Sorry can't give you a vissual, but will do my best explaining. The thermostat is located were the upper radiator hose meets the engine block. First let cool then you can either drain radiator down some, or just loosen upper clamp and remove upper hose-this will make a mess. Remove the three mounting bolts and remove the thermostat housing. The bypass hose- thats the small one going from the thermostat housing to the water pump- may also need to be removed. I just normally cut it off- it's maybe a buck to replace. Now you will need to remove the thermostat and clean off all old gasket material from both the housing and the top of engine. I personally like to put a peice of sand paper on a flat surface and clean the housing off that way- this also helps to make sure that it is flat when reinstalling- they tend to warp and will cause a leak if its not flat. A razzor blade or putty knife works great on the engine side. After making sure you have everything good and clean, you will place the thermostat back in just like you took it out- spring down into engine. The main thing to look for is a groove that it will sit in. DO NOT GET THE GASKET BETWEEN THE STAT AND THE GROVE. I say this because as you tighten it all back down, you will break the housing if you don't get the stat into the grove and then the gasket. You can use silicon sealer also if you like, just don't use very much- what you see ozzing on the outside, is also whats ozzing on the inside!
