Hydraulic male quick connect will not reconnect to the transmission. What can i do?

Replace the quick connect fitting on the transmission. I just did this on a taurus and the part at the Ford dealership was around 19 dollars

consider this
if you have a bucket operation, get a hose made up for the post driver and disconnect the hose for the bucket and connect the post driver in it's place ( quick connect fittings )
then use the bucket control for the post driver
( necessarily the bucket but any other hydraulic operation with quick disconnect fittings )

Need a clutch pedal diagram for a 1999 s10 2.2 4cyl manual trans


Sorry no diagram. But here is how it works. In the start position(Power) the wire goes to the start fuse, from the fuse it goes to the clutch pedal switch. Push the pedal and it goes to the starter relay. On the other end is ground. If it is good it pulls the relay closed. On the closed end is battery power to the starter.

If you have Nantes book it will help slot also go to autozone and rent a tranny jack if not u can take a 2/12ton floor jack take a tie down and have someone help balance tranny as u slowly pull it out and lower down also if has quick fit tranny line (white snap ring on end of line securing line into tranny) u can use small flat head screwdriver use litte pressure to push in and pull on line in stead of wasting money on that tool if it's a hydraulic quick connect hope this helps but buy the manual it will help so much for the do it yourself guy

Hi, The PO742 is a transmission code representing the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) release switch. To throw this code, there is either an electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic issue.

If you are extremely mechanically inclined, you will need to check the TCC solenoid, verify the connections of internal wiring harness, and perform an overall diagnosis of the transmission's condition, which will require removal of the transmission.

Given that you have a 4T65-E Transmission I would highly recommend taking it to a good transmission shop, this is not a 'quick' fix issue. Good luck and Godspeed.

How to install a clutch kit on my 1994 mitsubishi mighty max


Disconnect the battery, disconnect the Hydraulic Line from the Slave Cylinder, Remove the Starter (2 bolts, 2 wires. Bolts are 14mm, 1 wire is 12mm, 1 plugs in), Remove the Driveshaft(s) (4 12mm bolts) Remove the 6 bolts from the bellhousing (4 are 14mm, 2 are 10mm)
Remove the bolt from the Transfer Case Mount, 12mm (only if it's a 4WD, if it's 2WD this doesn't apply), remove the 2 bolts that hold the Transmission Mount to the Crossmember (12mm or 14mm, it varies)
Slide the transmission back on the crossmember, away from the engine, I recommend running a ratchet strap across the frame to balance the transmission.
Remove the Pressure Plate from the Flywheel (Six 10mm bolts), Inspect the Pilot Bearing (if it needs replaced, you'll need to remove the Flywheel which is held on with six 18mm bolts, drive out the old bearing and drive in the new one, reinstall the flywheel, using Threadlocker on the bolts, torque the bolts to 100 ft lbs) Install the new clutch disc and Pressure Plate, with the centering tool inserted through the disc into the pilot bearing. Use thread locker on the pressure plate bolts and torque them to 20 ft lbs. Remove the centering/alignment tool after you've bolted it together
Remove old Throw Out bearing from input shaft on the transmission and slide the new one on. Slide the Transmission forward (make sure the input shaft slides into the pilot bearing, don't force the transmission into place or you could damage the clutch disc or break the input shaft) Torque the Bellhousing Bolts to 40 ft lbs (4 14mm bolts), Torque the 2 10mm bolts to 14 ft lbs, Install the Starter (torque bolts to 23 ft lbs), Reconnect Hydraulic Line to Slave Cylinder. Torque Transmission Mount Bolts to 30 ft lbs.
Reinstall Driveshafts, torque bolts on flange/yoke to 40 ft lbs. Fill Clutch Master Cylinder with DOT-3 Brake & Clutch Fluid, Open Bleeder Screw on Slave Cylinder and bleed the air out of the system, close bleeder screw.
Reconnect the wires to the Starter, Reconnect the battery.

YOU NEED TO GO TO AUTO PARTS STORE AND BUY FUEL LINES DISCONNECT TOOLS.THE FUEL LINE DISCONNECT TOOLS GOES IN THE MALE SIDE OF THE QUICK CONNECT FITTING.INSERT FUEL LINE DISCONNECT TOOL INTO THE FUEL LINE CONNECTER FAR ENOUGH TO RELEASE THE INNER LOCKING SPRING.AND THEN PULL OFF CONNECTOR. LUBRICATE THE MALE PIPE END WITH A FEW DROPS OF OIL.BEFORE RECONNECTING THE QUICK CONNECT FITTING. I used to work for a well respected Hydraulic Transmission company, HTS ( HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION SERVICES) based at Silk Street, Salford, Manchester. Maybe they can help you with this problem as they have some FAB engineers. I don't have they're tel. no. but I'm sure you can find them in the directory. Hope this helps you a bit at least.

Slave cylinder leaks


Remove the bolts holding the slave cylinder to the transmission. Disconnect the hydraulic hose. Reconnect hydraulic hose to new slave cylinder, and install the slave cylinder in it's original position.

Now proceed to bleed the line through the slave cylinder until a solid stream of fluid comes through, and the pedal pressure becomes firm.

Seems to be slipping in the transmission


if it is slipping then you will need to have the transmission overhauled, once they start to slip it is the end, the forward clutchs are worn out or u have a hydraulic pressure leak inside the transmission, this burns out the clutch quickly, this kind of failure is common around 100-125,000 miles, sooner if the trans has not been serviced every 60,000 miles, this would be a fluid and filter change
