Question about 1991 Porsche 911

Open Question

1991 Porsche 911 C2 (964) electronic rear spoiler frozen open

There is no response from the switch. The spoiler is frozen open. However, the warning light goes off after 4 MPH, so the sensor is detecting the spoiler. How do I diagnose why the spoiler no longer responds to the switch (at low cost)?

SOURCE: I have a 1991 911 Porsche. The ABS Light comes on

This is all related to the vehicle speed sensor. This sensor sends information to the speedometer, abs, and wing computer. You need to get it replaced and it should fix all the problems.

964, rear spoiler won't work

Start by checking remote switch. Test to see if there is power at the spoiler motor. If there is power getting to the motor check for bad ground. Finally remove the cable that drives the spoiler up and down and apply 12v dc to the motor. If the motor turns check to see if you can turn the cable without the motor and that the spoiler moves. I all power checks out and the spoiler won't move by turning the cable, the gearing that the cable attaches to is most likely damaged.

911 rear spoiler not closing

Adjust the spring located under the lid in the middle, just lower it n see if it latches. ( assuming your latch on the body side is working, it should be very hard to push it open. )

Porsche 1996 993 c2: wing light stays on. It doesn't operate on its own but goes up and down in the manual mode.

Hello there
On passenger side under the dash is a relay for operating the rear spoiler.
The part number is 964 618 212 00.
This could be most likely your problem.

How to remove the rear automatic boot spoiler of a 2005 porsche 911 turbo?

What you need to do is raise the spoiler via the switch to the full extent and place pieces of wood between the spoiler and body, then using a 'C' spanner to fit round the top of the rams and locate into the small hole (i found the multi purpose spanner that comes with pushbikes has just the right fitting) turn each ram 1/4 turn, but be careful because when it releases from the spoiler the ram will retract into its housing with great force taking the spanner with it and damaging the body. good luck!
