Try having the vehicle jumpstarted; it sounds like your battery is ready for replacement.

Pt cruiser jerks when acclerating, hesitates when not accelerating, fine when idle

I am not saying this is the solution or this is the problem but the PT cruiser suffer from code P0344 Which is the cam position sensor which causes misfire, the solution is a reflash of the ECM.But before a reflash the Camshaft postion sensor needs to be verified for working condition and if possible duplicated.Once the Check Engine light does come on you automatically go to limp home mode, This is the drag that you experience, the purpose is to protect the catalytic,in case there was a true condition with intermittent cam postion sensor,You need the check engine light code, then you can go from there.

The brakes on my 1997 Volkswagen Golf will periodically give out, the pedal going all the way to the floor, and then work normally at the next stop.

Hi Sdill, That must have been scarry! I suggest looking at the following:- Make sure there has been no separation of the brake linings from the mountings. Make sure that the rear brake assembly locators and retaining mounts have not come adrift. Check the front calipers and brake pads. Check the pedal movement and determine the normal movement with the engine running (car stationary) and the engine off and let me know the travel distance. Check for any signs of leakage of brake fluid on the inside of any of the wheels. Check for signs of leakage from the brake master cylinder. Check the flexible brake hoses for swelling or breakage. Check for broken or loose fitting of the hose to the brake booster and the one way valve operation of booster valve. When the failure occurs is there any braking effect at all? or does the pedal go to the floor with nothing happening? I'll be waiting for your reply. Regards John

Brake problem

Sounds like your braking system is working perfectly as vacuum adided system should. A hard pedal is normal when engine is off then the nvac sftens the pedal. If pedal is moving down too much check your brake pads and/or shoes for wear and adjustment.

Replaced everything but the power booster. brake light comes on. pedal low. have bleed the brakes. no leaks. pedal still low. but have some brakes just not up to normal position on the break pedal

brake pedal height is determined almost exclusively by the rear brakes adjustment. turn the starwheel adjuster and spin the tire by hand until the tire begins to drag. more for firmer higer brake pedal. it is only too much if you smell the breaks while driving. an initial smell is normal as the shoes burn into position. sometimes you can drive in reverse and apply the brakes sharply for an "automatic" adjustment. but this could take many attempts and will only work if everything is clean and well lubricated.

2001 Volvo S60 2.4T starting problem

This car won't start unless the gear is in the P position. Some times the sensor that tells the computer that the gear is in the P position doesn't make a good contact and the car won't start. Move the gear backwards and forwards until it makes a good contact and the car will start again.
