There is no fuse to relieve pressure, just turning the key off does the same thing, if you want to relieve the press just depress the test port valve in the fuel injector supply rail on the top of the engine.

Do i need to pull the fuel pump fuse to replace the fuel filter on a 99 lesabre?

If you have access to a fuel pressure gauge that can relieve pressure for a volume test you can use it to drain the residual pressure or remove the fuse and crank the engine and let it run out of pressure. Either way wear goggles over your eyes and keep an extinguisher nearby .

Honda Civic Coupe. Year 2000 1.6. How can I depressurize the fuel system easily to change the fuel filter situated in the engine compartment.

Hi,

IMPORTANT: Do not skip the fuel system pressure release step. Injury and other damage can result!
Safety Step! Relieving Fuel System Pressure
· allow engine to cool
· relieve fuel system pressure
· put on your eye protection
Before you begin the job of replacing your fuel filter, you must relieve the pressure in your fuel system. A fuel injection system operates under very high pressure. If you don't release this pressure before you start unscrewing fuel lines the result can be explosive. Do this before you attempt to change the fuel filter.
To release the pressure in your fuel lines (and fuel filter) you'll need to locate the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box. If you don't have a fuel pump fuse, find the relay that operates the fuel pump. Once you've found the fuel pump fuse or relay, start the car. With the engine running, pull the fuse or relay out. If you pulled the right one, the engine will quickly die. Since it's using all of the pressurized fuel in the system, the fuel lines won't be pressurized when you crack the fittings on your fuel filter.
Now that you've relieved the fuel pressure you can remove the old fuel filter.
If you didn't do this yet, you must go to the previous step and do it. Very dangerous!

Best regards.

Do i need to relieve fuel pressure before replacing fuel pressure regulator on a 03 chev malibu?

yes it's under pressure can can do it by starting the car pull the fuel pump fuse and allow it to die try and restart the car a couple times with the fuse removed after that the pressure should be relieved. if you have a fuel pressure gauge you can do it by connecting it to the strader valve and relieving it that way also

According to my parts guide, the fuel pump for your 97 Olds Aurora fits only that and the 97 Buick Riviera's and nothing else. The pump for a 99 Park avenue comes up as a different part number. Hope this helps!

How to change fuel filter on 2000 chevy malibu

the fuel filter is located just in front of fuel tank. relieve fuel pressure, you can do this by removing fuel pump fuse and running engine until it quits, or you can relieve pressure by shraider valve in engine compartment. squeeze the white plastic disconnect tabs together and pull the inlet line away from filter, then detach the outlet line from the filter, then unbolt the filter mounting bracket to remove fuel filter.

remove negative cable from battery, relieve fuel pressure(by removing fuse and run till it dies, or relieve pressure from shraider valve on engine) the filter is just ahead of gas tank, depress the white disconnect tabs , and remove line. use a wrench for other side of filter, detach fuel filter holder and remove. installation is in reverse order.

Replacing fuel pump on 1995 oldsmobile aurora

The GM 1995 Aurora repair manual, says to use the access hole under the carpet in the back right corner of the trunk. You are best to buy a new fuel sender locking nut or ring at the dealer for about $8.

Forgot to add this - to relieve the fuel pressure, just use the press the center of valve on the fuel rail (for pressure testing) and a rag to catch the dribble. Really no big deal.

Make sure disconnect the battery cables too

use the pressure test port on the top of the engine, it is on the fuel rail that supplies fuel to the injectors, looks like a tire valve, will have a plastic cap on it.
