Heater on 2007 Suzuki vitara blowing warm air only

hvac 101

windows fogging up
well that takes 2 things working to do that 3 really
1: heat, you have heat. and blower works.
2: you need the dampers to work, to send a/c side air to the windshield. (it mixes heat and a/c flows)
3: the A.C must work it is the DEHUMIDIFIER PART.

i do not understand at all the sticking thing,
are you saying the controls are failing, ?

I have an issue with my windows fogging up when I use heat to defrost them.

This is normal if your A/C doesn't work. When set on defrost the A/C kicks on and off to keep the fog from appearing. the fog goes away once the heat inside reaches a certain temperature. Unless the drain is clogged and the plenum is holding water. Do you have ice on the inside? clean the drain. It's on the passenger side, near the bottom of the firewall. A rubber tube coming out, that goes to nothing.

Heater & defroster works fine but inside car windows keep fogging

So you have the vent settings to blow out of the windshield vents and still have fogging?

You can dry out the air more quickly if you use the air conditioner setting. It sounds backwards, but this is exactly what the manual in my older car said to do. (Some cars are electronic control and won't let you do this however - or they do it automatically with the defrost vent settings).

For the older car, I would set the heat to the hottest setting and press in the a/c button. The a/c dries out the air, but it does not have to be set to run cold.

Another thing that could help is to make sure that you do not have the vents set for "recycling" the air. The picture should look like a u shapped arrow. Make sure it is not pressed in.
