How do i reset service light on 2001 pontiac aztek ?
Before you re-set it, take the car to AutoZone or other similar store to read the code. That way, you know why the service light came on.
Then AutoZone can re-set it for you (all free)!

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery for 10 minutes, or more.
When you re-connect the battery cable, the service light will have benn reset. But it will turn back on eventually.

The service light is reset by turning the key on and pressing the gas pedal 3 times. The check engine light needs a scantool.

This has to be done with an OBDII scaner,places like pep boys or auto zone will do it for you or you can borrow the sacner from them(you rent the tool) but they give you all the $ back when you are done with it.

RESET PROCEDURE
The only way to get the light to go off is to clear the ECM or BCM code(s).

ECM/BCM codes should be read & repaired before clearing them
