Question about 1994 Ford Bronco

1 Answer

What is the color code for a 94 ford bronco xlt raido? I bought an after market cd player to replace my factory ''tape'' player. I'm not getting enough power from my red wire so I thought it's probably in the factory harness seeing since my factory radio will not power on now.

Run any power wires directly to a post on the fuse block. yellow or orange needs power all the time even with the key off for the memory. the red wire should be on a switched terminal. THe factory radio wires have many other things that may come off them that may effect performance. You can buy a fuse tap at the same location you got the harness, if you need more help just post back, I will watch for any questions.

Have sony cd player and wires in my 94 ford tarus dnt match up 2 my sony cd player

GO to your local Walmart store and in the Car stereo dept. You will be looking for a factory to aftermarket wiring adapter FD02B made by Scosche. c7d9e5d.jpg

This will plug into the factory plugs and then have lead wires of the same or similar colors and a wiring schematic to use.
It can also be found online at www.scosche.com/products/productID/226
If you are missing the factory wiring plugs you can also order these online, Walmart doesn't usually carry the factory wiring harness.
Great company and line of products.
Thanks for your question, Dorrian

I am considering buying a 96 Explorer xlt. It has 160k miles on it. What's the average miles?

Hi,

I've had Fords for 20 years, and have done a lot of work on most of them, having bought them used mostly. I currently have a 94 Ford Thunderbird with 150,000 miles on it, and the transmission was replaced at about 70,000. Although I have not had an explorer (but I did have a bronco), my boss had this exact year. He also had to change out his tranny before 80,000 miles. Other problems ford trucks tend to have are oil leaks in bad places (flywheel, head gasket, etc...). I say bad, because these areas are very expensive to fix. my T-bird just lost it's heater core, and to replace it costs about $700.00

All that being said, if you get it for a reasonable price, and are ok with putting money into it because, say, it's a really clean one, then you might want to buy it. It's really up to your own discretion, because when a car gets to be over 10 years old with over 100,000 miles, anything can happen. Last thing: it is entfirely possible to drive this car for another 100,000 miles, provided the previous owner(s) maintained it very well and didn't take it off road at all. I got 200,000 miles out of my bronco's original motor. The previous owner didn't take it off road - but I did! ; ) Take care.
