Question about 1995 Honda Accord

2 Answers

I have a 95 accord that has an overheating problem the car runs fine most of the time but there are times when im driving for about 30 min the car overheats sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. I also notice that it looses water but there is no water on my driveway and i checked the oil and there is no sludge. Could it be that my thermostat is sticking? What about the water where does it go? Also everytime it over heats i let it cool down and add water it takes almost a gallon.

so it wouldnt have anything to do with the thermostat right or else it would overheat every time right.

Overheating can arise as a result of a number of factors. The first is that you need to closely observe the rate at which your thermostat switches. You could disable/remove your thermostat so that the radiator fan is constantly on. This way, the fan keeps the radiator temperature in constant check. The second is that your radiator fan may not be working properly. Put on your engine and check if both fans in the engine are working. There may be a need to replace one of the fans. The third is that your top cylinder gasket may be burnt as a result of prolonged overheating. This is a secondary result of overheating. In this case, the only solution is to drop the engine and replace the gasket. Hope your problem is solved soon.

I believe that you head gasket is going. Your fluid is going out the tailpipe as steam. They are kind of famous for going a little at a time until you blow the motor

Runs fine for a few

it might be the fuel pressure regulator, i have a similar problem with my 95 302. but mine just dies but starts right back up. i was told fuel may be evaporating out of the fuel lines, when it doesnt start the first try i pump the gas pedal 2-3 times and it starts right up.
