When I start my 98 Cavalier it sometimes wont start, but when it does it feels like it's missing out really bad. but it only does it sometimes. When it does that i give it a little gas and keep doing it till feels normal agian. But that doesn't fix it. It just seems like it helps. It'll also doesn't accelerate the way it used to. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS???

My 98 cavalier is running really rough, sounds terrible

If you can have the fuel pressure checked and compared to factory specs. There may be a leak in the line or where the fuel line connects to the filter.Your going to have to follow the fuel line visually from the fuel rail/injectors to the tank and check for dripping or moisture.I beleive it may be either that or the fuel pressure regulator.

Need to know signs of my starter going bad

I have a 96 Cavalier and lately, sometimes when I go to start my car, I turn the key and the engine won't crank. All of the dash lights turn on, so I don't think it would be the battery. If I wait a few minutes and try again, it fires right up. This is probably the first sign of the starter failing. I've been told to whack the starter with a hammer while someone is turning the key, but have also been told that with Cavaliers build in the 90's and up, this is a no-no. There are magnets inside the starter that can break if hit with enough force. I have yet to have the starter fail to the point of not being able to start it at all, but I'm sure that time is coming. Hopefully, I can trade this POS in for something decent.
