Question about 2004 Ford Focus

Exlamation light on sometimes, rattling at low rpm, hesitation

The exlamation light in my 2000 ford focus comes on for 30 seconds and then cuts off sometimes when I'm driving. When at lights and the car is at low rpm there is a consistent rat-tat rattling under the hood. My car is now starting this new problem of hesitating to go forward if I tap on the gas, it will just coast until it kicks back in. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

Need to be more specific with the exclamation light... color, description of what the light looks like with the exclamation.

Red usually means your brakes,
Orange should be coolant related

forgot to mention that with the Focus, an orange exclamation means coolant and transmission issues

What does the exlamation mark mean in your dash

I think this is a picture of your instrument cluster (see below) but if your talking about a light, which one are you talking about because I don't see an "exlamation" mark. Just reply/comment as to which number you are talking about and I think I will be notified that you replied and I will check and tell you what it means. Sorry I can't be of anymore help at this point.clifford224_71.jpg

Light on dash shaped like fishing bobber with an exlamation mark inside and hash marks around it just came on. No manual to show what it represents to correct.

This is a indicator light that lets you know that one of your external bulbs are not functionng properly. Check all of your marker lights, signals and brake lights. You should find that one of the bulbs is blown.

2003 Corolla (toyata). I have a light with an exlamation mark inside of a circle showing up any idea what this is ?

It is the handbrake light (eBrake). If it is not applied, then the rear pads will be low causing the light to come on. Check the sensor under the handle too, it might be loose causing the light to stay on.
