Hello I was wondering if there was a way to check if the Ignitor in
a Honda Prelude was bad or not. It is a 1998 with and the
engine just died out on me at a stop light. Any help would

Most likely the tranny is shot. you will need to have it replaced or have it rebuilt wich in most cases costs more, by a tranny specialized shop.

Definitely change the transmission oil - could be some rubbish in there stopping the actuators working correctly. If that doesn't work, could be time for rebuild with new friction material in the clutches.
