Make sure you don't have water on top of your plugs I had that problem and it was the intake gaskets leaking. It was causing it to misfire

2003 lincoln aviator makes knocking when start and idleing.what might that be

1. Using the incorrect viscosity oil for the engine; and
2. Low oil pressure; and
3. Worn bearings in the bottom end of the engine.

ONLY use the oil specified by the manufacturer in the engine or you WILL have engine issues develop.

How do you correct for error code on 2003 Lincoln Aviator with code P2071, intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) valve stuck closed Bank 1

This has a double intake manifold with control actuators at the base of the manifold most are vacuum controlled the computer monitors these actuators positions. #1 locate passenger actuator and lever position with engine off put a vacuum hose on it and suck on hose and watch arm lever it should move then place tongue against hose it should hold that position if it does not actuator is bad if it does the the control solenoid is at fault or no engine vacuum to solenoid.

How do you change the idle speed on 2004 aviator??

Due to the use of computers to operate the engine, idle speed cannot be changed. There should be an idle sensor either on or near the air intake hose coming in to the engine. Typically, when the idle is too high or too low, it is a faulty idle sensor.

98 lincoln navigator loud noise, shaking, high rpm at idle, drive

I don't know how much oil you had to put in but it sounds like you have maybe more than opne issue and both sound major. One is engine reving and speed not picking up sounds like trans problem. Two the engine shaking and making noise and being run low on oil leans toward possible engine damage. If your mechanicly inclined check all fluids and when checking trans fluid smell it. If it smells burnt the trans has been damaged. Check oil pressure and make sure coolant is full. You may have to take it into the shop.

I had the same problem. Maybe you still have some bad ignition coils. I would change them all out. Very simple to do yourself.

Also, check the hose that is connected to your PCV valve. Mine had a huge hole in it from melting and it was sucking in to much air.
