2003 Chevy Impala, Driver Side of Dash Vibrating Sound

My 03 Impala has 45000 miles on it, and has just started to have a vibrating noise come from the driver side of the dash board. It happens with no Heat or A/C on, so no fans or blowers are running. All that has to happen is the car goes over an uneven patch of road or even the slightest bump. I checked all the screws around the dash and steering column to see if they were loose, but all are nice and snug. was wondering if there is a know issue of something coming loose behind the dash. Thanks for any help that can be offered.

have someone put their hand on parts of the dash till you locate the vibration. Most times once you find the general area you can put some "dum-dum" in the seams to stop the vibration. (you can get this from nearly every body shop, very inexpensive)

Do this, when the vibration starts, place your hand over the area and indeed verify the location. Next, check the area for loose anything that'll cause the vibration. Maybe that will help. Good Luck.

Car vibrating while idling

Sounds like it is missing badly and would not be so noticeable when running. Have you had it tuned up lately? Could be wires and plugs need replacing. Also if you have a lot of miles on the engine the compression in the cylinders may be low. Two possibilities.

Metallic, vibrating noise coming from engine compartment

I've actually had two different occasions (on different GM vehicles) which would produce this type of noise. On a 1990 Buick LeSabre it was loose bolts connecting the flex plate to the torque convertor ( sounds most like your problem). On a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville (actually 2 different ones) it was a bad harmonic balance pulley. The Buick only cost me the time to remove the dust cover from the bottom of the bell housing and tighten the bolts. The Pontiac's cost me $100+ for a new pulley and the time to replace them. Both require a bit of mechanical experience, but I did them and I'm just a simple farmer.
