Question about 1996 Lincoln Town Car
Which door is it ? If it is a front door, then it may be the hinge pin bushing that needs replacing. These can be bought at any auto parts store. Get the pin and bushing set because the hinge pin will need to be ground off to remove it. Press the new bushings in with pliers and insert the new pin from the top

If it's a front door, you can just remove the bolts that connect the bottom hinge to the door, then add a couple washers between the door and the hinge. This will correct the "sag" at the back of the door and it's a lot easier (and cheaper) than replacing the pins. Good luck!
