Are you getting ignition switch power to the relay or just battery main power? If no power is reaching the trigger wire on the starter likely the ignition switch or the relay has failed. Also, check power into and out from neutral safety switch.

Do you have a delco type starter (with solenoid , battery lead and trigger wire, or do you have ford type with just battery lead? If the relay is clicking and nothing is showing up at the starter trigger, (or ford type, 12v at the main lead, same test) change the relay. I'm assuming that you have a good battery that passes a load test? (200amp load for fifteen seconds, no voltage drop below 9.5 volts and returns to 12v immediately after load is removed) I'm also assuming that your battery terminals and wire connectors are clean and secure.

Why 97 jeep grand cherokee wont start no click ?

Bad ignition switch,
Bad neutral safety switch
Bad starter relay.
Bad starter.

If you understand how relays work, you can remove the relay in the car and jump the switch pins together. If the starter motor turns the engine, you problem is the first 3. If not, its the starter itself.

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited has a new battery but won't start. When I try to jump start it, it just makes a clicking sound but won't start.

Most likely you have a bad connection somewhere. Trace the battery cables and clean/tighten all terminals or try jumping to a different lug. You might also try removing the starter and jumping directly to the starter to verify that it is good.

Could be a failing starter or problems with the cables.
A dead cell in the battery will do it too.

Bad solenoid i would guess. Not making a connection there. Any basic wiring and ignition switch problems should be alleviated by jumping the starter with a screwdriver. I would check the solenoid and starter brushes

if you have power to the solenoid on the starter pull in post but nothing happens thenthe brushes need to be replaced in the starter.the brushes let the solenoid go to grounrnd for the lenght of of time it takes to engage the solenoid pull coil and the switch and relay take over during the hold mode of the starter.usually will find the lead from the solenoid to the brushes has rotted off,or brushes are gone.
