where is said lamp? located, exactly
the users guide is lost sure.
no VIN told or country. lamps are by laws in vast countries, (facts)
toyota, online, asks for VIN to get the free manual
so sorry I can't be you and do that.
38 years ago, even google forgot this, 0 hits.
my wild wild guess, is the gear shift PWR lamp
that changes gear shift, (auto shifting delayed shifts)
ECT PWR
MEANS ELECRONICALLY CONTR. TRANS./
If say pulling boat and do not like the early shifts
this is handy. but use it and see what it does.
it wastes fuel to get more speed.
delays shift points
sorry had to guess where this lamp is. and cant/
and owners manuals are now HENs teeth rare
buy one from scalpers sure.
I assume you mean the "ect power " light. This means the trans computer will hold each gear a little longer before changing down. It is turned on and off by a button on the console
HI there the pwr light is not a warning light it late you now wot mode is the engine and transmission is in If you look by your shifter you will see switch for the engine and trans mode it will say eco/pwr . pwr= power mode and eco = economy mode. OK
Hello. Welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you.
The ECT PWR light is on because someone has inadvertantly bumped the switch. Look on the console, by the shifter, or on the dash for a switch labeled ECT. Turn it off, and the light will go out.
The ECT PWR mode, when activated, increases the time that the transmission shifts up thru the gears. Without the mode selected, the first shift would be at 18-20 mph. With the mode selected, the first shift would be 20-22 mph. This mode basically allows the shift to occur later, and is normally used when you are towing something, or if you have a large load of cargo in the car.
Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance. Have a great day.
This light usually indicates that you have selected the power option for your transmission shift pattern(normal or pwr)
There is a button on the center console or the shifter that selects pwr or normal trany shifting, if pressing the button again does not change the light than the button or wiring may be defective and require further diagnosing
there should be a switch that says power/econ the light means you have it set for power ,find the button and push it and it will read econ, it is usually a green button on the center console.this changes the shift characteristics of your vehicle.
"ETC PWR" means the "power mode" switch on the tranny is on. this lets the tranny rev above 3000 RPM, and is normal. look for a button near the center console and punch it.
as for running rough, have someone check to make sure a coule of wires didn't get switched. also, you shoulda changed the plugs, too.
