That is also referred to as the "Check Engine Light"... It is "pollution control" device that needs attention.

Some auto supply stores will check it (AutoZone - for free) and tell you what the "code" is and what it means.

If they only give you a "code", write it down and post a comment here and we will solve it and give you the best advice!

Thanks...

My moms did this and it was bad gas! Dealer said go and get a tankful of GOOD high test and at the end of the tank the light should go off. It worked, if not take to a autoparts store and have them read the code.

The check engine light appears to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for fault codes stored. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. Getting the codes will show what problem/potential problem the computer has identified. Hope this helped and best wishes.

The oil light on my dashbord comes on but there is enough oil in the car

It could be indicating low oil pressure or a plugged up oil filter. Have the engine scanned for trouble codes. It could just be a faulty oil pressure switch. Is the light staying on, or is it intermittent.

Turn off the maintenance indicator light

Please remove the battery connectors for 5 minutes and replace.

That should do the trick.

A light came on, a little yellow triangle light, and a note that said oil maintenance required.

Check the engine oil level. if low add 1/2 quart and re check untill full. GO get oil change. DO NOT RUN if oil is not showing on the dip stick. The oil weight is in the owners manual.

Please note:

Honda makes reference to proper vehicle maintenance in their service/user manual. Consult your authorized Honda dealer before doing anything that may void your vehicle warranty.

Resetting the Engine Oil Life
Indicator

Your dealer will reset the display
after completing the required
maintenance service. You will see
‘‘OIL LIFE 100 %’’ on the odometer/
trip meter display the next time you
turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position.

If maintenance service is done by
someone other than your dealer,
reset the maintenance minder as
follows:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON
(II) position.

2. Press the Select/Reset knob until
the engine oil life indicator is
displayed.

3. Press the Select/Reset knob for
more than 10 seconds. The engine
oil life indicator and the
maintenance item code(s) will
blink.

4. Press the Select/Reset knob for
more than 5 seconds. The
maintenance items code(s) will
disappear, and the engine oil life
will reset to ‘‘100.’’

Important Maintenance
Precautions

If you have the required service
done but do not reset the display, or
reset the display without doing the
service, the system will not show the
proper maintenance intervals. This
can lead to seriousmechanical
problems because you will no longer
have an accurate record of when
maintenance is needed.
Your authorized Honda dealer
knows your vehicle best and can
provide competent, efficient service.
However, service at a dealer is not
mandatory to keep your warranties
in effect. Maintenance may be done
by any qualified service facility or
person who is skilled in this type of
automotive service. Make sure to
have the service facility or person
reset the display as previously
described. Keep all receipts as proof
of completion, and have the person
who does the work fill out the
maintenance record. Check your
warranty booklet for more
information.

Honda-crv 2008, When to change the oil.

Honda say thats not true and to wait until the car tells you when to change it. I have a 2008 CRV and you should and can wait till the oil say 15%! We took ours in after a long road trip for our first oil change. We had over 5K and the oil said 65%. The guy said that we did not need to bring it in. We still had change it while it was their but the car goes around 8-9 K on a oil change. A little wrench will come on and the oil life % will come on when it reach15% and will come on every time you start the car till you get it changed.

Maintenance indicator

It means that 5,000 miles have passed since your last oil change or reset of the indicator, change the oil if it has not already been done.

you can reset the indicator by putting your key in the slot next to the indicator if you have one, Or try to hold down the "Trip" button so it resets and this should work

Problem

Hi Abouali, I think that you'll have to visit a dealer or someone else who has the service and maintenance reset equipment....Every time you change oil or do any other work on your vehicle, keep in mind that the resets are not automatic and that special equipment is needed just to reset those indicators.
