Car keeps locking/unlocking itself when using the remote key

When using the remote keyring on my "52" coupe the car will unlock, but then immediately relock - sometimes it'll do this three or four times one after the other, but others I can press it and it'll work fine - any ideas?? Thanks

The batteries may be in need of replacement or wires are rubbing causing it to work itself ..tilt wheel and or from opening and the closing of the door causes wires to break and make a connection allowing it to operate itself remove the door panel and visually inspect the wiring

Few Toyota models came equipped with remote door locks before 2008 - surprisingly!

Your car may not have the radio receiver to work with door locks. In that case, you need the radio and some wireing to pair with your remotes.

Most likely the latch itself has failed. Open the door panel and first check to see if unlock signal is getting to latch connector. If yes, replace latch. If no signal, the problem is more likely in the control module.

This came directly from my Hyundia service guy:

Unlock the car, get in and close all doors. Turn the ignition key to ACC, press the Unlock button till blinkers flash. That's it. Get out of the car and see if it works.

Good luck.

We have a 2007 Entourage and you cannot lock it with the car running. We installed a remote starter and it will not lock the doors when it is remotely started. Can this feature be disabled?

i think that this is to prevent you from locking your keys in the car with the engine running.
Some remote starters have a feature that when the car is running (and in park) you can hit the remote start button twice for one second each - then you can take the key out of the ignition and still have the car running.
At this point....if you would hit the 'lock' button on your door the doors would immediately unlock. However, if you get out of the car and close the door leaving it unlocked and then you hit the 'lock' on your original car remote the doors will lock and stay locked. So now the car is running the doors are locked and you have the keys in your hands. Then you can run into the store or house real quick with your car locked.
Once you come back, you hit 'unlock' on the original car remote. the doors will unlock - you can get it - and then before hitting the brake put the key in the ignition and turn it (dont crank it) as if you had when originally using the remote starter.
Maybe this will work for you.....
