I need to chang plugs, wires oil change i was wondering if someone could tell me exactly what size sockets and drivers i need to get the job done easy and fast its a 2004 ford crown victoria interceptor...

the spark plug socket size is 5/8"x 3/8" drive and you need a 3/8 drive 3" or 6" extension with a 3/8 drive ratchet and a spark plug gapping tool to make sure the plugs are gapped properly.the drain plug is either a 1/2" or 7/8" wrench depending if it has been replaced due to being bad.

hi,
take off the passenger side front tire. this may give you a way to SEE the bolt. a wobbly and 3 extensions got it for me on my LTD. but it was much older. just an idea. you can try autozone.com they have an extensive repair library, you have to sign up , but its completely free.

Check the starter itself or the starter solenoid, battery cables, or relay. If you can deternine the location of the clicking sound, it will help to determine how far the current is getting.

My 2004 crown victoria is dead - battery replaced

there is a loose connection on the small wire that hooks to the starter. jack up the car and tap on the wire and starter and it will crank. i had to put a new crimp connector on mine. its starting just fine now. done this to 3 1994's and 2 1993's good luck let me know how it goes. sawdust46

How to remove starter from 1995 ford crown victoria

yes they are very difficult to get to.
its just the top one and some mechanics leave them out after starter replacement.
it sounds bad but true.
i use either a stubby 10 mm wrench and a prybar to break it loose,
or a 3/8 ratchet and a wobble extenion and socket. it has to be the perfect length using different extensions to reach and still fit with the ratchet handle at the back of the starter.
sorry but it can be done.....
no stubby wrench, cut one
