Overseas and need to replace 2006 Odyssey Lic Plate Light

I am in the military and overseas. I need to obtain and replace a license plate light for my 2006 Honda Odyssey. Apparently the Honda Odyssey it not sold widely outside the US, so I am having a great deal of difficulty finding the part. Any suggestions?

I probably should mention that I have investigated purchasing one online. Most online places will not ship to APO addresses (thanks for the lack of support to military overseas) and/or the cost is ridiculous. Who wants to pay $50 to get a license plate light shipped over that should only cost $0.50? Moreover, the military does not take care of us in that they require a safety inspection for vehicles being shipped overseas and a vehicle with one of two license plates out does not pass the inspection -- i.e., it's illegal to drive the vehicle until the lic. plate light is fixed.... What a crock.

I would be concerned about using a light not intended for this specific purpose...especially because I need to pass a military safety inspection.

I think the best solution is to ask a relative to send me the light via snail mail. I may have to bum a ride for a week or so until it arrives.

I hope this helps someone else considering issues they may run into if they ship their car overseas!

There should be an easy way in repplacing it. you dont have to replace the whole headlight housing. just the bulb. there should either be two screws or it should slide and pop off. if i had to guess the light bulb would be a 168. but im not sure without looking at it. it should say on the bulb

Where is the rear license plate light fuse on a 2007 Honda Odyssey

Your license plates work on the same curcit as your tail lights so therefore have the same fuse, if you tail lights are working and your plate lights not it isn't the fuse. check the globe and contacts where the globe and globe holder fits.

A bit of penetrating oil often does the trick.
