GEARBOX UNDER PERFORMING

MY CAR IS A 2LTR VW BORA, CHASSIS # WVWZZZ1JZYW518741.

THE THING IS IT NEVER GOES BEYOND 170K/H AND IT ALSO JECKS AT TIMES WHEN IN MOTION.

OF LATE IT HAS STARTED LOCKING THE GEAR LEVER WHEN IN PARK GEAR. IT UNLOCKS ITSELF AFTER SOMETIME.

Hmmm perhaps your hitting the rev limiter, or the top speed limiter in the ECM.

Check the interlock switch at the brake pedal.

Hi, im having a similar problem with my Bora 1.9 tdi 6 speed manual.

1st and reverse get stuck (occasionally) and i am having to almost force it out. Any ideas?

sounds like 2nd gear synchromesh unit is worn out. gearbox strip down required.

hi their how are you ? are you local to east sussex ?i work out of their it hard to say why your airbag light i on most of the time it the wireing undre the front seats get move or comes unpluged but you wont be able to turn the light out without a computer if its loged a fault now as it thinks that there is something wrong it would have to be rest sorry. the abs light comeing on when you start the car means their is a fault with the abs motor or a wheel sensor but again with out pluging in to the car its hard to tell you what the problem might be the reverse light is most of the time ie a bulb switch in the gear box or a fuse . i hope that helps you let me know what happens thanks

you do mean its a 5 speed with a clutch right? If so you need to purchase a heavy duty clutch which should handle it well .. that is if its a 5 speed standard shift... holler if you need more Jerry
