Question about 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

1 Answer

Periodically the clock resets itself when the car is restarted. This morning on the way to work the ABS and brake lights came on and braking was difficult. Then when I stopped for a light the ABS light and brake light came on again and the ABS kicked in. Then it was fine. Tonight when I got home, I tried to lock it with my remote. It wouldn't work, so I tried to lock using the lock button inside. No luck! Not only that the car won't start at all, no lights,no radio, can't shift. However, while I was writing this, the alarm went off and then stopped by itself. Is this a circuit breaker/fuse problem or something much worse?

This is a pinched wireloom problem the harness has a short in it possibly damaging a relay or, two.
the best thing to do is: take your car to a certified auto electric shop: before it causes a fire; the cost will be well worth it and, should be reasonable

ABS and Brake warning lights intermittent may be caused by a failing wheel speed sensor(ABS Sensor) and /or its connector. You may have one on each wheel hub(4WD) or if 2WD, a sensor may be on the rear axle differential center.

ABS light, Brake light, and trac control lights on no brake problems. have to turn off engine and restart to clesr lights 2001 windstar

You most likely have a problem with the ABS brake system. First, check your brake fluid level as many vehicles have a fluid level switch that monitors brake fluid level and if the level is low it can turn off the ABS and turn on all those lights.[ABS is part of the Trac control] If that is good then you may have a failing wheel speed sensor, wiring, or a problem with the ABS controller itself which would require having someone connecting to and reading the ABS service codes with a scan tool to identify what the system saw that caused it to turn itself off. Brakes are a very important safety item so you should get it repaired as soon as possible!

2002 Chevy venture indicator trouble

Try disconnecting your battery for about 30 sec to reset the ABS computer. You probly have a trouble code stored in the ABS computer and the lights are letting you know there was a problem. If the light stays on after you reset computer then you will have to pull code to troubleshoot problem.
