I own a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. I have a problem with the airconditioner/heater motor not working with the in dash controls. It all lights up and appears to work as it should. I've changed the climate control modual located under the glovebox and no change. I can run thr fan motor by jumping it from the battery. I've not been able to find a fuse for the fan motor in any of the 3 fuse box locations. Any ideas?

Hi, look in the long black box under hood in front of passenger for fuse/relay- it is most likely the blower resister that is under the black box in a small door held by 4 screws- take out cabin filter and you will see it- check for brown on connections to resister- clean with sandpaper and reconnect- see if that gets it working-also, there is fuse box under steering wheel and dash- look at cover for pirate map of fuses......happy trails

Hi, check relay in the Power Distribution Centre, black long box in front of passanger under hood. Further instructions on the forum.

You can fix the buttons on the steering wheel by replacing the wiring harness that connects to the bottom of the dash. Steering wheel has to come off.

1995 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE PO640

Well code 640 is usually found on diesel engines for a problem with the intake air heater circuit.
There is a code 1640 for some GM cars which is for a problem with one of the quad drivers inside the computer.
You may want to get a second opinion on the code to make sure it really is 640.

Engine swap

I believe the 1995 S/C 3.8L changed in 1996 (switched to series II). I do know for sure that the normally asperaited 1995 had a Series II 3.8L.

If this is true (series I in 1995 S/C), quite a lot could possibly need changed.

Blower motor doesn't work.

I have a 1995 SSEi that had the same problem about a year ago. Turned out to be the blower control module, located under the hood at the center of the firewall beside the fuse/breaker box (on my car). About $270.00 to have replaced. Part was $130.00 jobber price. Good luck.
