Question about 2005 Chrysler Sebring Conv

1 Answer

Car wont stay started

I have a 2005 sebring. It sometimes wont stay started and when it wont it takes hours till it will start again. You go to turn it on and it will start but will shut off after a min of running. Last month it did this a lot so we took it back to where we got it. They change the security sincer on it and said that they were 99.9% sure that it was fixed. The car was working great until thoday when I went to my car after school to do to work and the stupid thing would not start. I'm getting very mad at tnhe thing because my first car (a 1978 cutless superme) worked better then this car and it older then it.

Change or better still clean the mass air flow sensor. look for a displaced old vacum hose that is disconected. up the idling screww.
you might need a good tune up on it.

Sounds like you damaged the engine by running it without oil. Sorry but you probably need a new engine.

My sebring sometimes won't start even though it

Sounds like a faulty fuel pump. Next time it doesn't start have someone listen with their head right above the gas tank. When you turn the key to "on" pos, without trying to turn it over, they should be able to hear the pump spin.

My 2001 sebring wont start. I turn the key and it

you could very have a transponder key that has failed to let the circuit complete to start the car. check that with your local locksmith. also try to unlock your doors manually with key , on the driver side and turn to unlock at least three times, i know it sounds stupid but your car has a passive alarm built in that will prohibit it from starting sometimes because it was designed so well.:) good luck.

Chrysler sebring wont start at all

Does it have a distributor??? If it does, take it off and spary the inside of the cap with WD-40. It sounds like you have moisture built up in the cap from just sitting there. You might also need to put a battry charger on the battery to bring it back up to fully charged. Cold weather sometimes play a tole on cars sitting around, especially Batterys.

2005 sebring hub bearing replacement

This is actually not a dificult repair IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME.
Start, of course, by raising and supporting the vehicle
remove the wheel(s) as needed
Remove the caliper, brake pads and caliper mounting braket
remove the rotor
remove the axle nut, there may be a cotter pin in the nut acting as a lock.
make sure the axle pushes in freely inside the hub, it's splined and sometimes seizes in, a puch and hammer will knock it free
there will be three bolts on the rear of the hub assembly that must be removed
remove the hub by hitting it with a hammer, sometimes the rear bearing seal stayes in place, remove this also
reverse these steps to install your new hub.

Questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck
