Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

Spare tire is stuck to the bottom of my trunk

I have a nissan altima and have a flat tire and I can't get the spare out of my trunk because it has rusted to the bottom of the trunk. The only thing I can think of is that there must be a water leak in the trunk. I have bought a new tire to replace the flat.My question is how could I remove the old spare out of the trunk without causing damage to the trunk bottom?

If there is rust there is going to be damage anyway but there is no telling how much till you take the tire out. Better now then let it rust away where you cant see it and possible cause more problems

I have a 2009 Nissan Altima with 130k on it. I have a clunking rattle in the rear end. I have had it to the dealership 8 times now and they tell me there is nothing loose or wrong with the car. HELP

I had a similar problem years ago. Turned out it was a package of raisins in the back...
Your Altima is front-drive, so all that's back there is suspension and what's in the trunk. I'd start by taking everything out of the trunk, including the jack and spare tire. Clunk still there? Ok, try a mechanic, not a dealer "parts replacer".... I have lots of stories about dealers...

Bottom line, most dealers don't actually hire mechanics, they get people that simply replace whatever the computer tells them to replace. If there's no "check engine" code, then nothing is wrong.

This link should help you, it says its under the back seat but some are located under the rug in the trunk near the spare tire. Depends on your model I guess.

2010 Nissan Altima clicking sound front driver's side while driving

Since the sound gets louder the faster you go, it sounds like you have a bad wheel bearing. You could try putting the spare on the back and see if it helps. If you can get the front of your car off the ground, spin your wheel with one hand and with the other hand, grab ahold of your coil spring on your strut. If you feel a vibration on the coil, than more than likely you have a bad wheel bearing.

Water in trunk where spare tire is in 1998 maxima

Check the weather stripping around the trunk lid. An older car like that could have a bad seal.

probablly the result of insufficiently sealed body seams.empty trunk, sprinkle baby powder everywhere use vehicle or get it washed and look for trails in powder ...follow back to source.a little messy but very definitive!

We have a 1999 nissan altima with water getting into the trunk, in the spare tire compartment. the carpet and cover for the spare compartment are wet and getting mildew as a result. when last checked,...

i have this exact same problem on mine. i see the plugs too, not sure if this is for wiring or possibly to let water out if it ever got in. but doesn't seem to be where the water is coming from. had the problem for years but finally took off the carpet on the walls. there is dust on the metal from it being untouched for so long. but i can see water streaks in the dust and i followed it. for mine atleast, it seems to be coming from where metal meets at the front of the trunk where the latch is at. looks like weather stripping should be protecting it, but its so old i dont think its doing its job. when i pulled the weather stripping off a bit, it had water inside. it has to be getting inside somehow and coming over the metal. defeating its purpose. im just finding it tricky to find the type of weather stripping the car came with as other generic types dont seem to be doing the job

Releasing the spare tire

if you look when you open the trunk right in the middle of the trunk there is a hole which your crank goes in to release the tire that is mounted under it, turn it either left or right to loosen
