Question about 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Open Question

Ive been having issues with my 2004 Sebring when on the freeway It feels as though im not accelerating the RPMS never go above 2500 once i hit about 50 MPH but i continue to accelerate but car feels weak. Had car die on me on the freeway, gauge said I had gas but the car just cut out on me. Not sure of these are related.Couldnt get ir restarted but I did go home and put a few gallons in from a Gas can and in the morning it was having a hard time starting I basically floored the gas and it finally started.

Many, many possibilities. One likely cause is a malfunctioning fuel pump -- I'd first have that checked. Charlie

SOURCE: Car hesitation

had a problem with a grand prix like that once, was the fuel filter, and injectors, all needed replaced, and it only had 89,000 miles.
Would check fuel filter first. Is it possible you got some bad gas??

SOURCE: my 1996 chrysler cirrus rpm drop to zero on the freeway

Hey, The problem is NOT a crankshaft sensor or a TPS sensor.  It is most likely the distributor.  If it is not givin you a check engine light or shooting a code then its is your distributor.  This just happened to my 2000.. how many miles you got on it, you like it?  I got it 2 weeks ago, then on the highway it seemed to lose the response from the accel.  But it would sometime drop back into gear and I could drive for another 20 second and then it was dead.  So let me know if this helps....

SOURCE: i have a 1998 chrysler i need a fuel pump ? won't start up right away until i give it gas usually in mornings, sometimes after making complete stops car cuts off after pushing back on gas?

This is not the fuel pump. It sounds like the computer is not setting the proper fuel mixture.

If you have had a fire that has damaged the electrical wiring then it is more than likely shorted out a lot of sensors . Maybe if you run a fault code reading it will give you some idea of what units are failing. I may suggest a wiring harness from the wreckers but it will be determined by the codes if that is feasible.

Runs rough at low rpms. Misfires but goes away at about 2000 rpm.

Sounds to me like it could be a Mass Airflow Sensor issue. Or Air fuel mixture problem. Is the harness to the MAF and Trottle control sensors hooked up right? These are just simple solutions that may work. Check all of your fuses as well. One could be blown causeing you DLC not to operate. DLC =DATA LINK CONNECTOR. Find the fuse... read the code.... solve them problem! GOOD LUCK! hope this helps.
