Why does my car drive itself when my foot is taken

Why does my car drive itself away when my foot is just taken off the break,without stepping on throttle,its automatic,"i could say it pulls its self"is it normal?

Yes, this is normal - worry not! Very useful for holding steady on hillstarts etc. All automatics do this.

If it is an auto then it is possible it is idling to high and the trans is still engaged despite you foot being off the peddle. Try lowering the idol speed as a first resort.

I can hear a air leak inside the car, the sounds goes away when i put ny foot on the breaks, what can this be? this noise can not be heard under the hood.


Could be your vacuum brake booster, especially since it stops when you step on the brakes. If it's leaking air, have it serviced asap since it's now a safety problem.

Rpms get real high without much movement. at the same time couldnt switch from drive to park without it getting stuck at nuetral..finally was able to put it in drive when i took my foot "OFF" of the...


mcdevito75 here, There is a solinoid on the brake with when you step on the brakes allows the tranny shifter to shift gears, D.N.R etc. Have your local shop check this out for you. If only this solinoid or an adjustment, approx. $150.00 about the rpms and not going any where, hope it"s not the tranny itself slipping, that"s $1000.00
