Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type

1 Answer

I have a 2001 jaguar x type with the audio connectivity module fitted and want to know how best to use it. I have loaded some CD's on to a USB stick but the ACM does not play them in the order I have downloaded them. It also does not display the name of the CD album. Why?

Were the names with the cds to start with, and it will play them in the order they are loaded on the stick ,which may not be how you put them on the stick. Also it might not be able to read the names ,it is a older model with one of the first usb supports

Witch modern audio unit fits Jaguar XKR 2002 ?

the jaguar audio system in your car is made to fit in the console stack so to get one to fit is not easy the best way is to get a premium jaguar audio unit for that model/year car ie with amplifier module etc and fit that so not to destroy the origional console fitment. depending the exact model/year the system may also use d2b fibre optic for audio transfer if its the all alloy version 2002 on thats the system not easy to change audio system in modern cars like that. hope that helps

I have a 2000 jaguar s type and mechanic stated that I need an engine computer module. Any ideas of out the door costs including repairs

if the Engine Control Module failed your car would not run. They don't go a BIT faulty, they either work or they fail.

for a ball park estimate of what one costs, there a number here, but I would take Dennis's advice

I need to charge my a/c, does anyone know how? It's a Jaguar S Type, 2001 and thhe system needs to be charged but I can't figure out where the inlet valve is. Michael

the inlet vavle is the tube with the big fitting on it usually located on the high side of the system (hot to touch) the canister of freon will only fit on one of the fittings. look against the fire wall of the car and look for the aluminum tubing that comes from the wall that leads to the radiator area you should be able to tell which one is the right one to use.

Getting E-1 error message for radio

Well I had a 1990 Xj6 with an aftermarket cd-changer in the trunk and it didn't work, so when I took it to an audio specialist he said that it needed to be replaced. But what he did say is that most manufactures use the same connection cables for their products, ex. Sony plugs will work on all Sony cd-changers. I now have a 1994 Jaguar XJ6 and I have the same error code. I know that Jaguar installed Alpine CHM-S620 cd-changers. So in theroy you could go to an audio store and get the same cd-changer and it should have the same plugs so you wont need to rewire anything. I havent done it yet because I just bought the 1994.
