HI,

I think your clutch has some problem or the slave cylinder is not working.

Get it checked at the service centre.

Have a 1993 jeep Cherokee 5sp that is hung in 2nd gear. Have already removed the top cover and shifter is hung could not move it with a screwdriver. Any suggestions? Clutch, and related parts are new.

2wd or 4????????
real old jeep that is.
if thats true real rear tire off ground.
the rails are stuck or the fork to gear slider is.
ok 5sod is 5 speed box. manual
so you burned it up, with no lube, every 30k. a cure.
(skipping service )?
if the forks get no lube they weld to the gear sliders.
fixed many I have.
you can shaft any car with a locked up clutch (2wd) raise
one rear tire, now there is no load on the box.
now you can shift. if you cant the box is seized.
if 4wd, well that be another matter, but if the 5sp stick wont move
its seized or the shift rails are locked.
if hope its the rails,, bad. not box gears and bearings, wrecked.d7762f77-8ce4-4d3d-b89b-c42914546376.jpg

My 93 sentra 5 speed wont come out of 4th gear

If the shift linkage is not binding on the outside of the transaxle, then something inside like a shift fork has broken. The transaxle will have to be removed for repair. Such is the way with 20 year old cars where old things break, bad luck for you. It will be an expensive repair. An alternative is a used 5 speed from a salvager. That and a new clutch could have you going again in short order.

My car is 1988 camaro and with a 5 speed transmission, and the 3rd and 4th gear wont go into gear. seems like it is going in, but makes a noise, and i have all other gears

on the shift forks in that 5 speed are a thin aluminum ridge that fits into the ring that shifts the gear,, if it was shifted hard, this can break off and you wouldn't be able to **** those gears any longer ,, I have had to fix this same problem on one of my friends cars

Does it shift normally in drive and just won't go into overdrive, (4th gear), or is it hung up in 3rd from a dead stop?

When going throught the gears forward sometimes it takes more muscle to change particularly 3 to 4 or 4 to 5 ..... sometimes it is easy to change gear and sometimes it seems to take more effort ....kind of...

try double clutching(come out of 3rd then push clutch twice b-4 going to 4th. if this works your clutch slave may be weak or pressure plate is worn. Try shifting from 1st-3rd if engine revs like your in neutral replace clutch. when going 1st-3rd engine should catch and cause vehicle to buck&stumble. (check level of clutch master cylinder)
