Question about 1994 GMC Jimmy

1 Answer

I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy SLE and rats have chewed the wire for the engine hood light. Is it a special wire or just a in-line fused wire? Where is the switch for this light? Is it a mercury switch?

There is a vacuum routing guide under the hood on the federal emission certification sticker. If that Is no longer there I need to know the engine type, whether is federal or California certified engine emission system.

Put new starter on and battery lights won't come on nor will the car turn over. some rats build a nest in the engine compartment, so i do know how to get the car to start. help me please.

Hi,
Have you put a new battery in the car? If so and it still won't start, try retracing the wires under the hood to be sure the rats haven't chewed through any of them!

Oil capacity for a 1994 GMC Jimmy SLE

this engine takes about 5 quarts with filter after a hot drain, add 4 quarts and then run and top off, remember to fill the oil filter up before installing to prevent "dry" start up, u can use 5W-30 or 10W-30, either will work, in summer or hot climates use 10W-30, never use a heavier oil.

Relay should be in a fuse box under the hood. Check the right and left side next to the fender wells. If you find that the relay will not correct the problem then the fuel pump when out.
