If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking, at the times when it won't start, and the relays are clicking and buzzing, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. ECU is likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Reasonably priced repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

1990 300z 5speed BAD vibration from drive train as car slows, engine rpms fall almost stalls as car rolls to stop even though clutch is pressed in, then rpms pick back up...

check the fuse for your ecu in the engine bay. Replace it and see if that works. See if you weld on a car without disconnecting the battery you send a current to your ecu that could fry it. Nissan thought this one out and put a fuse in front of it. LOL! but all cars have it too.

There three computers in a 300zx where are they?

Hi, the ECU (engine control unit) is located under the passangers side foot panel (if your sitting on the passanger's side, where the tips of your feet hit). Remove the floormat and there should be an area of the carpet that is partially detachable, being held by velcro. Under the carpet there should be a wooden board which you can take off by removing 4~5 10mm bolts. Once you remove that the ECu will be the brass colored metal box with all the wires pluged into. There are 3 10mm bolts to remove the ECU. Hope that helps. :)

I don't think this is possible. Your AFB engine requires an AFB-compatible ECU. The AFB code is specific to that engine design due to parameters of the engine itself. My 99 A4 has the AHA V6 30v engine, which can only be controlled by an AHA ECU. Changing the ECU does not change the engine itself, and trying to use an ECU from a different engine code will not work. If you want to use a different engine, you'd need that new engine's ECU, engine bay harness, accessories and mounts, and possibly even the chassis harness from the donor car. It'd be a tremendous amount of work.

it deactivates cylinders 1, 4, 6, 7 between 1000 and 3000rpm. It will operate in 4 cyl mode when the torque requirement is less than 95% of the maximum availabe from 4 cylinders.
