Car starts sounding like it has fuel starvation spuddering

I can drive my 1992 190e for a about 15 minitues and then it sounds like it has some fuel starvation and stalls. I sometimes have to leave it for about 1/2 hour and it starts right up. But if I try and restart it sometime it dose but sounds rough and then gose for a bit longer. Sometimes it will not start and when left will start right up later. It has done this through out the summer first thought it was water /condensation in the tank but kept the tank full and added water remover. Problem still gose on. Any ideas.

Sounds like the vent on your gas cap is blocked.
The next time it dies, try opening the gas cap and listen for a sound like air escaping. If you hear this, it should start right back up again.

If I'm right, you just need to replace the fuel cap ($5 at any gas station or auto parts store) and you'll be good as new.

Fuel starvation. If i am idling the car will just die. If I am driving it jolts like running out of gas. mechanics said fuel starvation If i take my foot off gas and put it back on, car is fine.

Well, fine for how long? Until you come back to an idle and it starts all over? Is it constant with the jolting- that probably is fuel starvation- but interesting that it sounds like something resets when you take your foot off and back on.
I can tell you right now that to start, you need to have the fuel pressure tested. The fuel pump has to maintain high pressure in the system at the engine for the fuel injection system to work correctly. Too low of a pressure, because of a weak or worn out pump, will cause fuel starvation, just as you described. This is a simple test and only takes a few minutes, so it should not be expensive to have it done, if you don't have access to a fuel pressure gauge tester.
If the fuel pressure is correct, it could be an injector problem, either mechanically or electrically related, but more likely and less expensive to test, is a problem occurring at the throttle body assembly. There are a couple of computer sensors there that should be checked- the Throttle Position Sensor has a lot to do with smooth acceleration and steady off-idle like high speed driving. This sensor especially needs to be checked. And there is an idle control motor or valve that the computer controls for smooth idle- the IAC (idle air control) system, just a small electrical piece mounted on the throttle body.
I would bet you have a fuel pressure problem, but sometimes your symptoms can be caused by a problem at the throttle body assembly-they all contribute to fuel starvation, or more precise they affect the fuel/air ratio. When that ratio is too far out of whack, it just kills engine performance .

I have a 1992 jeep wrangler that runs great for the first 20 minutes and then begins to spudder or cut in an out. I push the clutch in an it idles high. After the jeep sits for a period of time it once...

sounds like someone has pushed a plastic lunch bag in your fuel tank . This will cause the fuel flow to be restricted when the bag is sucked over the fuel pickup , then when you shut off the engine the bag floats away , only to start the cycle again when you drive it next . Good Luck

Car shuts off after starting.

is the fuel filter clean ,,, it sounds as if it has fuel starvation ,,, this could be the filter or make sure you have the correct pump installed , because they have different pressures
