Question about 2000 GMC Yukon XL
I have the same problem now the tow/hual wont turn off at all and the truck is stuck in low gear at I had to keep turning it off and on to get the light to go off. I have not found anyone who knows what the problem could be I hope i wont need a new trans. maybe it can be the onboard computer, loose wires behind the steering colum or the shift stabilizer if you find the solution or have and ideas before me please let me know thanks and have a bless day
Make sure that the wiring from&to the switch are not shorted. It appaers to be just a single wire but if you inspect closer you'll see it a two wire. If the switch is located on the gearshifter, remove the steering colunm top and lower covers. Then pay close attention to the area where the Tilt wheel has the tendency to old wire hanger trick. Just at the base of the colunm and the dash meet.
