That sounds like a bad negative connection the terminal may be corroded, look for electrolysis(green white powdery substance on the terminal, best thig to do is replace it.

check the PCM relay, because if the battery had correded the terminals the relay may be bad, check the positve cable to the power distribution center too.

1998 Saturn will not start. Battery connections are clean. No clicking noise, simply won't start. All electrical works. I turn the key to start position and nothing happens, no sound...nothing, Thank you.

try an old fashioned boost from another car using booster cables.or use a battery charger and allow it to charge for 30minutes. either way you choose,if you choose the boost off allow the booster car to run while cables are connected to your car battery, your battery may just be completely dead. after connecting the cables, positive to positive, and negative to negative, allow the booster car to run for 10minutes before you attempt to start your car.this will allow time for your car battery to slightly charge enough to start.if this does'nt work then check for a bad starter.hope this helps and thank you for choosing

My caravan wont start. my battery is still working fine but when you try to start the car, you hear a clicking sound. the car only works if you charge the battery first. i removed the negative post from...

sounds like you need a new battery and battery terminals. the battery because you need to charge it first. and the battery bolts because you have to jiggle the wires

1998 chevy lumina that the power shuts off when trying to start.

Battery terminals are loose or have corrosion on them. Check both main battery lead's at the battery and + where it is connected to the starter and - where it connect's to the body and engine.

Car's power completely shut off when driving. 1998 Malibu

Problem is either the battery or the terminals that go on the battery. Remove and clean both terminals and if the problem persists replace the battery.

Chevy Malibu Check Battery Light

the problem with my malibu was the plug going to the alternator. i went to the junk yard and cut a plug end off the wiring harness and replaced it on mine and it's been working fine. i don't know why it drains the battery with the broken wire in the plug, but it did. i found the problem by wiggleing the wire while my wife watched the dash for the battery light to go out. ken!
