Question about 2000 Chrysler Town & Country
Keep track of when you last had the
freon gas checked in your vehicle. Cars lose a small amount of freon each year.
Low cooling power in your car may not be due to a leak, but regular usage. Your
coolant may just need to be topped off.
Check around the couplings where the coolant hose is attached to the compressor. Freon gas is mixed with oil in the air conditioning system and you will feel the oil on the connection if there is a leak.
Clean and tighten the connections first. Run the air conditioning system for a few days and recheck for any oil. You may solve the problem with this simple tightening.
Run a freon leak detector in front of the air conditioner compressor. This compressor is usually located somewhere behind the dashboard. Try removing the glove box to find the box. Freon is odorless and invisible, so you need special equipment to sniff it out.
Wear protective glasses when you come anywhere near the hoses and clamps that lead to your air conditioning system. If freon gets in your eye, it can cause permanent blindness.
This will help.thanks.
