There is a blend door actuator for the laredo and if is bad the air wont come out here is a pic of what it looks like and how to get to it

The single zone heater-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.

It is a vacuum leak somewhere....

Check under hood first (easiest) ..
Set parking/emergency brake, first.
Listen for "sucking vacuum" sound under hood while engine is idling. Replace hose or connection.

If not under hood, then it's under the dash...
close windows, turn off radio, set A/C fan on lowest (quietest) setting, etc.... Listen for vacuum leak... plug disconnected hose back into its diaphragm...

It may be a broken diaphragm (looks like a tin can) under the dash....

Hope this helps!

I have a 2003 cherokee laredo that keeps blowing air out of the defroster vents. Occasionally it goes back to the fron vents, but soon switches back to defrosters. The air is cold, so no problem with that.

If you have a manual control , you may a a vaccum leak at the firewall under the hood. when you give it gas and the vents go from the floor to defrost . listen for hissing, and cracked / broken vaccum lines

Jeep AC blows cold air at defrost and feet but not through vents

There is a flap that directs the air. the flap is controlled by a vacuum actuator. This is located inside the venting. The actuator is connected to little vacuum hoses that attach to the temperature control switch. Either the flap is stuck, or the actuator has gone bad.

My 1999 limited does this. When i bought it off the guy he said that its because of some flap down by the passengers left foot. In mine the passenger air barely even blows because of this.
