As mostly you have replaced all the possible parts by which this problem can occur.so most probably it’s the faulty solenoid.
Check the solenoid it will have the lever pulled in the off direction and it should move when the key is turned on.to check whether the solenoid is faulty try this as follows:--

move the solenoid arm up manually and have someone else crank THE CAR over if it starts right away and stays running.
Then its faulty solenoid. its like the solenoid has enough power to hold the lever, but not enough to move it its self. so order a new solenoid it will cost near to $150.

You can get it from local car garage or from
www.autozone.com
this will help.
Thanks.
please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You’ll need to check 2004 5.9L Cummins Diesel with a scanner and see if the fuel system is building enough pressure to allow it to start. Even if the jumper tubes to the injectors are leaking in small quantity of fuel it can cause this issue. It is also difficult to build the fuel pressure under slow crank than when it is running and creating more RPMS to build the requisite pressure to the injectors. It will also need to get the rail pressure up to POP the injector properly and has a good spray pattern. Also please check lift pump for good fuel pressure which should be more than 9.5 PSI. Check the fuel filter as well.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Transit pump code p0216 how can i fix this

P0216 DTC - Injection Timing Control Circuit Malfunction and this means the diesel fuel injection pump has a timing failure. This could be that the injection pump timing needs adjusted OR the failure is internal to the injection pump and therefore non-adjustable.

NOTE: If your vehicle is a Dodge Ram with Cummins engine then be aware that fuel delivery problems frequently cause this code. Prolonged fuel delivery problems can cause injection pump failure!

Symptoms of a P0216 DTC may include:
Low power
Crank, but no start
Hard start
Displays an intermittent stumble or miss
Engine may start and then stall
Engine may appear to drive fine but surge at idle

The most frequent cause of this code is a bad injection pump due to poor fuel delivery. Fuel delivery problems could be:
A plugged diesel fuel filter
An in-tank blockage
Air in the fuel due to a cracked in-tank fuel ine above the fuel level
Bad transfer (lift) pump
Injection pump out of time

Possible Solutions: First, simply check if your injection pump timing is adjustable. If so, check the timing and adjust if necessary.

If you think that you may have a fuel delivery problem, then check the lift pump operation. On Dodge Ram with the Cummins engine, the lift pump should produce about 45 oz of diesel in 25 seconds of operation. This can be performed by disconnecting the fuel hose from the injection pump and pumping the fuel into an approved container. Bump the engine over but do not start it. Then the lift pump will operate for 25 seconds. If the fuel is aerated, then check/repair fuel line and recheck.

With the fuel hose connected the fuel pressure should be 10psi. If the fuel delivery tests fail, replace the diesel fuel filter and recheck.

If it still fails then verify there are no restrictions in the fuel tank

Then replace the lift (transfer) pump. IT SHOULD BE NOTED that if this code surfaced after a routine fuel filter replacement or if you have any of the above symptoms after routine fuel filter replacement, then suspect the fuel transfer pump. This occurs because even a weak transfer pump can still provide enough fuel for the engine to run. But when the fuel system\'s prime is lost due to fuel filter replacement, it may not restart again without fixing the fuel delivery problem.

If you found your injection pump to be bad, the lift pump should be checked for operation to protect the new injection pump. This is because weak or low output from lift pump are common cause of injection pump failure. There are some aftermarket kits that can be purchased to warn the operator when the fuel pressure/volume drops to level that could damage the injection pump.

Hope this helps (remember to rating this free answer and leave a testimonial comments).

Dodge cummins won't start, fuel reaching injector pump but no fuel coming out of injector pump.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

Did you check to see if there is power to the glow plugs if not then that may be the problem and if there is power when you cycle the key not to start but for the plugs to warm up you may have a bad glow plugs.

I agree with kious75, you need to get the air out of the injector lines. Has the truck ran AT ALL since the installation of the injector pump?

What type of additive did you put in the trucks fuel tank?

Have you replaced the fuel filter recently? Check the filter canister to see if fuel has been pumped in to it. (one way to check is to open the water/fuel seperator valve on the bottom of the fuel filter canister and see if there is any fuel or water in there)

I had a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 24V Cummins ISB engine and had trouble getting it to start. Had NO luck bleeding the injector lines. My truck was a 5-speed so I got it on dry level ground and had a friend pull me with his truck, I popped the clutch in 3rd gear and the truck cranked up beautifully. It is similar to the process you would go thru if you had an old 5-speed vehicle with a dead battery. The engine and fuel delivery system on my truck and your truck are different but similar. My problem was a bad "lift pump" which was about $150 to fix, but caused a $1500 injector pump failure. I was nervous about pull starting my truck but it worked... the truck always cranked up after that.

Truck wont start after draining fuel filter?

You may have gotten air in the fuel lines. Diesels cant deal with this as well as gas engines should be a purge / bleeder valve on the fuel lines to eliminate the air. may cough and sputter for a while

1999 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins diesel.won't start.turns over thats it. put in a new intake fuel pump. still won't start.got fuel to the injectors sometimes.

Check the fuel pressure at the filter. Odds are the lift pump, located below the filter, is toast. Continual cranking of the motor with a bad LP wil cause the injector pump to heat up and burn out. Replace the LP and fuel filter. Bleed the system by cracking the inlet to the injector pump and bumping the enigine over so the LP will run. Once you have fuel at the injector pump, crack injectors 1,3,and 4. Crank the motor for no more 6 or 7 seconds at a time until it turns over. Give the pump time to cool for a couple of mintues between cranks. This process is easier with two people, one to crank and the other to watch for fuel and tighten the injectors once it starts. If the injector pump is fried at this point from cranking with no fuel, the motor should idle, but will stumble all over itself when the throttle is applied.
