Sensors are in bumpers, when the light is on for air bags they are disabled to prevent false deployment. If you have complete ins. coverage the car may be covered.

Where is the radiator drain plug for a Pontiac Grand AM SE, 2.4L 4cylnder?

Typically they are on the drivers side. It will be a white plug with a 1/4 inch square notch in the middle.

I would not drain the radiator with the drain. They are known to break the o-ring and leak after wards. It is usually much easier to pull the lower hose and let the radiator drain that way.

I have a 1999 Pontiac grand am v6. When the cars temperature is at 200 and I park it when I go to start it, it doesn't want to start. It takes a while to get it to start. But after I get it to start...

Check your ignition, battery cables, have your starter and alternator tested for defects, also it is recommended to flush and change your coolant as seasons change, during the summer, it's best to run water in the radiator instead of Anti-Freeze, and during the winter, run 50/50. You may also want to have your engine checked for compression problems, replace your thermostat, and radiator hoses, check your water pump, and heads for cracks or warps. I own a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE.

How do you change a starter for a 99 grand am se? Do you have any schematics that illustrate?

the starter is located on the front side of motor and is bolted to the transmission with two bolts. Raise the front of vehicle enough to get under and have room to work, block car securely before climbing under. disconnect the positive battery post from battery, proceed to remove starter and then remove wires from starter. to install hook wires to same locations they were removed from and install starter motor, install positive battery post connection and done.

The first things to do are: 1. Make sure the radiator is full when the engine is cool (check the fluid in the radiator as well as the overflow tank). 2. Make sure the thermostat is working. 3. Have the lower intake manifold gasket checked. The Grand Prix SE came with a 3.1L engine (standard) and these engines are famous for lower intake manifold gasket problems.

97 Grand Am electrical problem

If you hooked the small wires that are supposed to go on the big stud onto the small stud this will keep the starter activated. Also could have got a bad starter out of the box it happens.
