Charging my mercedies 2001 battery and the car alarm wont stop and i cant turn the key to try and start my car

put key in ignition turn to number 2 and press the fob buttons open close etc. see if that reset system. also if you charged the batter while on the vehicle you can only charge them with a tried and tested charger from mercedes as you can damage the engine management unit and the voltage control module fitted to the vehicle. failing that you will need to remove the negative lead on battery and leave off for an hour or so. and reconnect, the alarm will still go off until its internal battery goes flat ruf 30min or so. when reconnecting battery make sure the doors are all unlocked and boot is unlocked, you also will need the code for the radio and other units that can be in the vehicle from manufacture. if this does not work then you may need another unit to replace before the engine will start again as it has been damaged. when battery connected sit in the vehicle and turn ignition to number 2 and press fob to lock unlock doors then try to start engine if all goes well the engine and alam will not be a problem anymore

How do I unlock my 2003 Mercedes if the car's battery is flat and the spare steel key does not work on the doorlock?

You have to turn the steel key a lot harder than you would imagine.

Or you crawl under the vehicle and add battery charger leads to the starter motor red cable and the negative to a metal part of the engine. The battery will have enough charge to open the lock in about 5 minutes.

There is a discussion on this very issue here:

You need to open the bonnet/hood, identify the black plastic cover just inside the wing, flip up the top and connect your charger's plus terminal to the positive connector in there. You can attach the negative anywhere on the vehicle's metal body. Once connected, you should then have power to the car.

Should the battery charger be connected directly

Typically - Yes.
Some GM cars (and Mercedes) have the battery concealed and it offers a remote positive terminal for checking and charging.
You should connect to the positive terminal whenever possible. The negative side of the charger can be connected to any metal on the vehicle. Ground is ground - all over.

I am charging the mercedes ride-on car, but it will not run

A few simple checks before operating this type of toy can ensure safe and proper operation.
1.) make sure that the toy is switched to the 'on" position
2.) make sure that the battery cables are connected properly. Ensure that you have the correct polarity as these toys usually run on DC (direct current) power. The red wire plugs into the red wire and black wire plugs into the the black.
3.) Make sure that your battery is fully charged. The owners manual specifies charge time. Too littleo r too long of a charge may ruin the battery and cause a malfunction.

Good luck....hope this helps.
