I have a 1983 chevy malibu and it starts to hesitate around 45 mph. I checked the fuel lines and hoses and replaced all that were cracked. It started to hesitate when I changed the fuel filter. Can...

I would check to be on the safe side the fuel filter is going in the right direction. The arrow is pointing towards the engine away from the fuel tank, Then you need to make sure the fuel pump wiring connections are good contact and did not come loose when driving.

My 97 malibu hard to start when cold i've change the egr val intank gasket & crank sensor

Hello! If your vehicle is equipped with a 3.1L engine there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) number; 00-06-94-005 written on January, 2000...That addresses a cold start issue...It reprograms the PCM which solves the problem...If your vehicle has a 3.1L (do not know what engine is in the car) and this has already been performed a sticker with the TSB number will be fixed to the inside drivers door...If it has not been performed it is the solution...If your car does not have a 3.1L...Send a comment...Guru..Saailer

97 malibu ran outta gas suposedly will not start after adding gas

Your issue is with either spark or fuel delivery and you need to check the components in each system for proper operation. Such as pump, cables, camnshaft sensor, igniter, etc.

Changed the fuel pump and fuel filter but now car

It could be that the fuel filter was put on backwards or it could be the wrong filter. Some fuel filters will only allow the Fuel to flow a certain direction properly. There should be an arrow pointing the direction of flow on the filter or in and out are stamped on the end of the filters. If you can I would crawl underneath your car and locate the fuel filter. Look for the fuel line that comes from the fuel tank and follow it to the Fuel filter. Look for the arrow or the in and out. The back of the arrow should be where the line comes into it from the fuel tank and the head of the arrow should be connected to the line going towards the front of the car. If in and out are stamped on the filter, the line connected to the IN side of the filter should be the line coming from the fuel tank and the Out side should be the Line going towards the engine.. Hope this helps a bit

My 97 malibu engine light stay on and my engine is

your engine will have to be computer scanned for info regarding what your problem is, it's very likely that it's going to be a engine code that says you have "ENGINE MISFIRE", which could be plugs worn in excess or a fuel injector problem, or ignition coil pack not working 100% all the time and other problems that could be related but a computer scan will give you a lot better idea what is wrong, and direct you to your problem.....you need trouble code information first!!!...hope this helps....a.c.

My 97 Chevy Malibu won't stay running.

there are two components that you should be looking at one is called a throttle position sensor and the other is a idle air control motor/valve.these two will make the car hard star or not start at all.the are both located in the general area of the intake manifold right where the throttle cable connects.

97 Malibu. V6-3100. Starter turns engine, but car

I think you may have answered your own question. I would check to see if the fuel pump is turning on when you turn the key on to the run position. You should hear a buzz sound coming from the gas tank. I would start there.

How to change fuel pump in 97 chevy 2500 (cargo

You have to drop the fuel tank. It is inside. Hope the tank is near empty, remove the 2 fuel fill hoses, you have two straps, lower tank, remove 3 wire connectors, and several more lines. Please use an ac delco fuel pump module. It may come updated with a new wiring connector to fix the old ones problem. If it does, you have to rewire the van following the directions.
