Pretty hard to tell you it's a release bearing without hearing it but unless release bearing is in very bad shape & making lots of noise, it's very unlikely that is the culprit here. Does the clutch disengage properly, as in car doesn't creep when pedal depressed? Check master cylinder & slave cylinder movement, perhaps bleeding slave will help, but if it's only in second gear that the problem is occurring then I'd give linkages a real good coat of lubricant & see if that helps at all.

These bolts are in a real bad spot, i found the only way i could get to them is from below the engine after you have taken of that really anoying plastic cover, from memory youll need a 13mm spanner to undo the main lock nut on the alt, the others you dont normall have to touch,

it sounds like the glow plug relay has packed up you could try and get a second hand one this would be a cheaper option than buying a new one.

Ran out of diesel and filled it again cant get it started

Hi,

You have to bleed the diesel from the injectors, however diesel forced out of an injector can go through the skin and could prove to be fatal so great care should be taken.

Need assistance on how to change the rear wheel bearings on a ford escort 1996 n reg

If its got drums its no problem, remove the wheel, take off the dust cap in the center of the drum, remove the split pin and the center nut 24mm, i think.
Take off the drum, clean out the old grease from the bearing, and take out the roller bearings, then you need to knock out the bearing races with a punch.
Use the old races to knock the new ones in, grease the new bearings and reinsert to the races, reassemble to to rear hub.
Dont overtighten the nut, nipped up a bit and backed off will do

Sounds to me like clutch is not freeing up if you turn off motor & it goes straight into gear. Did you replace all clutch parts plate pressure plate & realease bearing its almost like there is not enough travel on master cyl or slave cyl if clutch is OK
