No... I worked with these models for quite a period of time, and I have never seen one sag. It makes me think that either at one stage it has got wet, or was removed for some reason and not been reinstalled properly.

Water in headliner

My Ford Explorer does this too. Almost knocked myself out getting in one time this winter since it had frozen and sagged low over the drivers door.
Typically this is because the drainage rails for the sunroof have gotten clogged. It's normally set up to handle a little leaking - the excess water flows down the back of the sunroof rails and into a tube that goes down the side of the car between the front and rear doors. It gets clogged with pollen ans such through the years.
Every car is set up differently, but it typically requires taking down the headliner and tracing the rails to find the hose, disconnecting it, and plowing it out with an air compressor.

there are clips under it they have probable come off the holders its a right mess on though getting it tight again

It is your e-brake cable. e-brakes are mechanical, not hydraulic, therefore it has nothing to do with your master cylinder. adjust the cable at the e-brake itself or re-hang the cable to its rightful resting place.

How do I replace the headliner in a Cadillac Sedan DeVille 1992 model

You could probably take the side closest to the sagging down and spray the ceiling with adhesive and then press it back up. That would probably be the cheapest bet. An auto detailing shop might also be able to do it for you if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

The headliners in these cars all come down sooner or later. The headliner in my 1979 Sedan deVille is finally starting to come loose and I'm dreading doing a replacement because my Burnished Gold interior color will likely be challenging to match correctly. The headliner fabric comes loose because the fabric is glued to thin foam. The foam disintegrates over time and the fabric comes loose as a result. Gluing the existing headliner fabric back to the old broken down foam underneath will never correct the problem. The only way to fix it is to remove the old headliner and replace with a new one.

The 1996 Jaguar headliner is sagging in the rear of the car. How do I repair the sag?

The problem is that the foam that is glued to the fabric. It becomes crumbly and disintegrates into messy little bits that get into your hair and all over your car's interior. Trying to spray glue, while the headliner is still up there, won't work for long. The foam will keep crumbling and glue won't stick to it. It's sort of like trying to glue some cloth to the ground. No way will it stick.

There is a temporary fix on the do-it-yourself aisles in the automotive weekend warrior stores. It is a product that has a little curly cue, and a clear plastic head. The product is called a "Saggy Stopper". The clear head blends in with your headliner's color. It looks promising for a temporary fix.

Hello Tom. Did you realize there is a technical service bulletin on this issue? I sent one into Ford from our shop (was under warranty then) with this a couple years ago. They fixed it up.
It has to do with a steering damper replacement, tire pressures and reducing caster (alignment).
Ask your dealer to look up this bulletin and follow it.

Sagging headliner

If you can get at the headliner, usually a piece of trim or screws, peel back a small section at the edge and see what it is fastened to. Its probably a piece of cardboard or something similar. If so just pick up a spray can of contact cement or some rubber cement and glue the sagging piece back in place. Don't get too carried away with the glue or it will look "hard" when it dries. Hope this helps.

My headliner is sagging, I have solved the water issue but now I need to repair the headliner. Short of replacing it at the dealer $$$ are there alternatives??

They do sell a headliner adhesive at your local parts stores. It can be a bit of a pain to do inside of the vehicle, but can be done. Just follow the directions on the spray can.

3m makes a great spray adhe they sell it at walmart for $10 in the auto section , most of the time do it right in the car remove any side trim and spray between liner and board and smooth down.

Wet Headliner

You likely have a water leak around the 3rd brake light mounted on the top rear of the cab. I had this same issue on my 96 Ranger Supercab and found that the foam seal had gone bad and was allowing water to leak into the back of the headliner around the light fixture. It ended up soaking the headliner from one side to the other as the headliner acts as a 'wick'. You can repair this issue by either replacing the sealant around the 3rd brake light or replacing the brake light. There are two screws which secure the 3rd brake light assembly to the back of the cab. Remove these and it will pop right out. I upgraded mine to an LED light when I replaced it. That solved two issues at once as I'll never need to change a bulb there again. If you want to be cheaper you can not replace the light and just seal it with rubber silicone sealer.
