Question about 2008 Nissan Versa

1 Answer

2007 53k miles nissan versa hard starting once hot.

Replaced fuel sending unit, (Dealer) still have a problem if car sits for a 1/2 hour or longer once car it hot, then it takes 2 tries. If I turn it off after the car is hot then it will start on first try (getting gas). Yes
I even wait the 3-5 seconds before trying to start car, dealer suggestion. If the car is completely cooled (over night) starts first try, no waiting. Dealer is out of ideas to fix problem. Replace injectors?

Thank you,

After sitting for a week or so during extremely cold weather, my 1995 Nissan Altima was hard to start. When I did get it started, it was making a loud rattling sound. The noise doesn't go away, but i

rattling sounds like a busted rocker and the valves are loose. when it doesn't start on the first try or so, that sounds like a head gasket. they tend to start better when its hot because it swells some and improves compression. I had a dodge do that but it will only get worse if that's what it is. If you don't get it fixed now you'll eventually warp the heads and be looking at a head job or worse a new car cause its terribly expensive to fix the longer it goes

you need fuel level sensor replaced. nissan has campaign on those. check with your dealer if your vin number falls into the campaign, which will replace the sending unit/sensor for free, but your VIN has to match the campaigh VINs.go to your dealer and give them your VIN so they can check it in DCS.

Difficulty starting car- egine cranks but car does

2008 nissan versa should still be covered under warranty. take it to the dealer. possibly the anti-drainback valve in the fuel pump is broken and the fuel lines are becoming depresurized when it sits. this will cause the car not to start until the pressure build up.

if it cranks for a longer time than normal and than it starts, you my friend need a new fuel pump rebuild kit/pressure regulator inside the gas tank. what happens is that the fuel will go back into the gas tank instead of staying in the fuel line and everytime you turn the key, the pump has to pump fuel all the way to the injectors again to get the car started. So, long crank and than start means fuel pump rebuild kit/pressure regulator in tank.
