After it cranks on the second go round the sound of it is like it want to cut off if i hit the gas it might get straight. i thought it was bad gas but its not i already bought a battery ill check the starter though.

Have you tried a new battery with high cranking power? Also, check your starter.

Try loosening the bolt on the bottom of the distributor crank engine then turn the distributor a little it should advance or retard depending on direction you turn it you will be able to tell.

The wiring harness will be completely different as well as the engine mounting locations. The computer will also need to be from an LT1 Camaro.

Trying to wire a 1994 lt1 into 1996 chevy s-10

It should be a plug and play if your using the ECM for the 1994 engine. The ECM on the 1996 S10 will no work on the LT1 engine, for one thing the S10 ECM will only command for 6 fuel injectors and will have different injection pulse and so on. The program of the S10 ECM is made for the Vortec as to the LT1 will have different parameter **** as engine running temperature, vacuum readings, and timing.
The most obvious would be the 1994 LT1 runs on a OBDI system and the 1996 is running on a OBDII system. You can still run the 1994 LT1 from a 1994 with a OBDii system ecm, but some of the sensors will need to be upgraded to accommodate for the proper readings the OBDII system will need to have the engine to run right.
If you don't have the right ECM for the LT1, go to the wrecker's and locate one, Caprice, Camero, Firebird ECT.....
Thank you for using fixya and good luck on your project.

V-8 Swap

The transmission and transfer-case will work with the 5.7 liter engine. Your going to have to replace the engine mounts and the exhaust manifold. You can get the parts needed at JEGs and you can use the exhaust manifold from a LT1 since they are contoured closer to the engine. The radiator will work fine, but your going to have to use a electric fan. With the V8 engine, make sure that it comes with the ECM. Easier if your going to use a 1994 engine like the LT1 from a Camaro, since it too used the 4L60E transmission like the one in your Bravada. Here is a link for you to get more information and parts you'll need and buy. http://www.s10v8.com/

Location of the camshaft and crankshaft sensors

cam sensor is on the driver side, front of the motor, just below the valve covers in easy veiw, just outboard of the water temp sensor and they both share the same wiring harness.  The cam sensor is on the passenger side, actually on the transmission bell housing.  It takes the signal from the flywheel next to the ring gear, about an inch from the engine on the transmission bellhousing.  Accesible from the top and easier if you remove the air filter duct.  Or jack up the front passenger side and easier if you come in from the front and its behind the axel, behind the motor, go up the bell housing, just below crank shaft level.  Go with this first , it tells the comp when to send fuel.  If you're getting spark with a 1381 code and you're choosing between CAM & CRANK, start with this, this is the culprit.  Consider getting it from the dealer.  Good luck.  This is Waverunner70, Hope I could help.
