We have a 2013 V6 Ford F150 Crew Cab and it loses power for no reason. Pull over on side of road turn truck off and back on and no trouble. What is causing this?

Many reasons.... a failing sensor, an ignition computer going bad. Run a diagnostics test with a code reader to find the offending part.

Engine swap

It's ******* to put an old engine into a newer vehicle. You can do it the other way around, but not this way. Chances are it won't have places for all the sensors.

Why is my 1997 f150 losing power? and do I have to

The fuel pressure needs to be checked. It may have low pressure. Or there might be a code stored to indicate what direction you need to go. Anything else is just a guess.

Like maybe a defective maf sensor. $200 or more
Or a throttle position sensor. at least $100
Or a clogged exhaust system. several hundred dollars.
