Hard shifting and not downshifting

Ok my car when between 15 and 35 is shifting hard and plus it dont downshift going up any sort of incline.. What could be wrong? ive taken it to 7 different places including a auto analist and they couldnt find anything wrong with it, and even after driving it they said the shifter was sticking and not releasing like it should... the tranny fluid is a lil dirty but not bad.

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When the accelerator is depressed hard (passing or going uphill) the vehicle downshifts into too low of a gear. The nose will dip down and it will rev high.

this is normal for the trans to downshift as the engine and trans are working together to handle the acceleration of your car and as your car's speed increases the trans will adjust again (EG: shift gears) this is more of a weight to acceleration sort of thing or rather weight to power sort of thing

hard downshift on that tranny ? means either your downshift cable is out of adjustment? or the shift solenoid shift pack has a faulty solenoid and or sticking servo valve or loss of voltage

Wont shift after 40

check the shift cable, it may have broke or is way out of adjustment. the cable for downshifting. if the cable is ok, then check throttle position sensor at throttle plate on side of throttle body. this has a major effect on transmission shifting.

What do the settings S-D and plus minus on trasmission shifter m

The plus and the minus allows you to "manually" shift the automatic transmission; sort of like a manual transmission, without a clutch......minus = downshift, + = upshift.
Just put it in "D" and drive on.
