Question about 2005 Ford F 250 Super Duty
The DPFE sensor has failed on you egr system .Replace just this part and don't let someone sell you a egr valve .The sensor is about$70 and faily easy to do .:)

Its a 6.0 liter diesel it doesn't not have a dpfe
P0401 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected
i'm positive that your egr valve is all carboned up and needs to be replaced its very common
unless your really patient and its not a granteed to work
remove the egr and clean it with some tune up cleaner to loosen and remove the cabon buildup so the valve can move freely
