I've heard this before from a friend, the wiring harness that went around the battry box had become corroded at that point from the run over of battery acid. Pevious to this discovery he'd changed his headlight swaitch which remedied the problem for a short term.

Parking light fuse keeps blowing 2007 Chevy Tahoe

Check the wires behind the fuse box and where those wire go through any metal bulkheads or framework. You do indeed have a dead short. Look for insulation rubbed through. Also work from the lights backwards to the fuse box.

I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited i have brake lights that work when i apply brakes, but as as soon as i turn my headlights on the fuse blows and i have no working tailights with the headlights on. ...

There is definitely a short in the park lights system. Did you just have a radio installed....since the illumination wire sometimes gets grounded and will cause that fuse to blow until you fix that wire.

Fuse 16 keeps blowing when ignition is turned on (fuse for headlights), 1996 honda accord.

You have a short somewhere in the headlight wiring. I would start by unplugging the headlights and see if it still blows. If so then you might need to trace the wiring back (with the negative battery unplugged) and find where the wires are touching. If it doesn't blow with the headlights unplugged then you should just need to replace the headlights.

98 convertible keeps blowing 40 amp fuse under hoo for headlights. put fuse in and it blows after about 30 seconds. Headlights will work and then fuse blows. fuse will also blow without turning headlights...

Hi, you will need to trace the wire from the fuse to the headlight switch. If you can tell me your model, I may be able to tell you the color of the wire. A common area of concern is the area under the dash where the wires leave the switch. If they are caught in the parking or regular brake mechanism, that can cause a short. You're looking for a spot where the wire is pinched in metal and/or the insulation has stripped from the wire. If you find it, wrap it with electrical tape and tie the wires back from whatever they were caught in.

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 is blowing fuses. Whenever I cut the headligghts on a fuse blows and my tail lihts, marker lights and dash lights no longer work. I have replaced the fuse 13 times so far. I havent...

I suspect wear and tear has shorted a wire somewhere. The question is where is the problem?
A little deductive work can go a long ways.
If the running lights work fine but it blows when the headlights come on then it is in the wires going to the headlights.
Try this. Get someone to help you by watching the headlights when you turn them on with a next size larger fuse. See if your helper notices one of the headlights being dimmer then another. If he does then it is "Likely" that that particular headlight circuit is the culprit.
Start tracing the wiring back from that headlight till you find the problem.
Note: You may have a bad headlight switch as well. as in it could be shorting out inside when you flip the beams on. If neither light comes on at all or merely flicker then Id be very suspicious of the switch.
If you are the only owner of this vehicle then you know that nobody has been hacking the wiring. But if you bought it you never know if there might have been a splice poorly made by somebody else that is now shorting out.
Hope you find it fast. wiring problems are a real headache.

No taillights and headlights blow.

No taillights and the headligts blow the fuse when turn on would indicate that there is a wire failure with the tail lights and when the headlights, being on the same circuit, are turned on, the fuse blows because there is a short in the tail light wiring.
Good luck

Headlights blow fuse...no short in wires?

there is short somewhere. fuses don't blow if there is no short or overload. check the switches.

Keeps blowing fuse in fuse block ,burnt block and wire also burnt headlight switch replaced headlight switch and still blowing fuses lights will not work at all now

The positive wire in the headlight circuit is shorted to ground someplace, you have to check the wire by following it from where it connects to the headlight back to the switch and then to the fuse block
